Outspoken musician A Plus has thrown shots at the government saying it should stop confusing Ghanaians with unnecessary projects and rather pay attention to the needs of citizens of this country.

The controversial hiplife artiste said constructing roads and building bridges is not something extraordinary since every government is capable of doing so, adding that the Mahama-led government is not solving the problems of Ghanaians.

“If you come and tell me that your health insurance isn’t working, and your school feeding programme too can’t feed kids, but you can buy V8 for your Ministers and kids are still dying of malaria and then you tell me to go and look at bridge – what I’m I going to use the bridge for?” he asks.

A Plus who was contributing to a panel discussion on Showbiz@thebar on Joyprime also opined that a government which is capable of moving a country’s debt from 4 billion to 90 billion should be kicked out.

A Plus who has openly showed his support for the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said he will continue to influence people in order to change their minds to vote the NPP comes December 7.

Dangote Purchaes Netherland Gas Firm

In a bid to meet Nigeria’s gas requirements,  Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) has completed the acquisition of Twister B.V, a company based in The Netherlands.

The company delivers reliable, high-yield and robust solutions in natural gas processing and separation to the upstream and midstream oil and gas sectors. Its unique separation capabilities are designed for augmenting production and streamlining processes, and to capitalise on high-yield gas processing for maximising revenues.

Based on sophisticated patented technology, Twister gas plants are typically cheaper to build and operate compared to alternative technologies, and also deliver better performance levels. The company has customers in Nigeria, Malaysia, and South America.

The acquisition complements DIL’s portfolio of investments in the upstream, midstream and downstream segments of the Oil & Gas sector. The company will help design and build the gas plants which would be critical in processing gas from oil fields for transportation via Dangote’s planned sub-sea pipeline (EWOGGS) for ultimate consumption by various industries and power plants.

Speaking on the new acquisition, President and CEO of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote said it was an important acquisition.

“Twister’s cutting edge gas processing technology is fundamental to delivering our strategy to unlock about 3 bcfd of gas in order to meet Nigeria’s gas needs.” he said.

“We are delighted with the confidence DIL and First E&P have shown in Twister to be their core provider of gas separation solutions. After a very thorough due diligence, our technology has been recognised as a key enabler to reduce gas project costs which is crucial in this current environment. We are excited to be part of the Dangote family of companies,” Twister’s CEO, John Young.

It would be recalled that the refinery and fertiliser projects of Dangote Industries Limited is reported to have the capacity of creating a minimum of 235,000 new jobs, both direct and indirect jobs, as it becomes operational in the first quarter of 2019.

Dangote, who revealed this recently, also stated that the projects would cost a minimum of $17 billion.

He said the $12 billion refinery would have a capacity of 650,000 barrels a day. He assured that there will be market for the refined products adding that even in Africa, only three countries have effective functioning refineries with others importing from abroad.

Dangote named the countries with refineries as Egypt, South Africa and Cote d’Ivoire, saying “Our refinery will be ready in the first quarter of 2019. Mechanical completion will be end of 2018 but we will start producing in 2019.”

Dangote said the project when fully in operation in 2019, would help the country save $5 billion spent on the importation of oil into the country.

The Electoral Commission says it is expecting its District Electoral officers to vet and release the list of aspirants who have qualified to contest in the 2016 parliamentary elections.

This follows the Commission’s announcement of the list of aspirants qualified to contest in the upcoming presidential elections at its Head Office in Accra on Monday.
The Commission revealed that, only four (4) out of the seventeen (17) aspirants qualified to contest in the December presidential polls.

According to the Director of Communications at the Electoral Commission, Eric Dzakpasu, all District Officers must publish the list of qualified parliamentary aspirants as part of their legal mandate.

He told Citi News, “When we go to the parliamentary, every returning officer receives the nomination, vets it and makes a determination to the Commission for approval, so in due course, a comprehensive list of all persons who are standing for the parliamentary will be published.”

Mr Dzakpasu expressed the hope that the announcement will be made “in due course”.
“It is a process and it wouldn’t take too long because we want to believe as at yesterday [Monday], all the constituencies were getting ready and so we expect that in due course within this period, the regions will be submitting the names of those whose forms have been accepted to the Head Office.”

About the recent Kim K robbery in France, robbers were rank amateurs... and it showed from start to finish.

According to TMZ, sources close Kim Kardashian say "the robbers were extremely hesitant and tentative ... whisking her in and out of the bathtub, pointing a gun at her head ... walking away and then pulling the gun again for no apparent reason."

As for the thieves copying cops, their uniforms looked like they got them from a Halloween store.
And they were arguing over how to pull off the heist.

"The thieves used a garden-variety backpack to carry the jewels out. But they were extremely careless ... a $33,000 necklace ended up on the street as they made their getaway. And they left zip ties and duct tape behind.
Still ... they got away with it -- for now."
