Netflix Subscriber Numbers Shoot Up

Netflix has shaken off growth worries with new subscriber numbers that beat estimates and sent its shares soaring.

The video streaming company added 3.2 million international customers in the last three months, far more than the 2 million analysts had predicted.

In the US, numbers rose 21% to 370,000 as hit shows such as Stranger Things and Narcos won over more subscribers.
It helped quarterly revenues rise 31% to $2.29bn (£1.88bn), sparking a 20% jump in Netflix’s share price.
In the three months to the end of September Netflix had about 83.3 million subscribers.

The company said on Monday that it plans to license content to existing online service providers in China rather than operate its own service in China in the near term.
Netflix has been expanding in international markets to counter slowing growth in the US. The service has a strong presence in more than 130 markets worldwide, except China.
Concern that Netflix’s growth was slowing had overshadowed the company. Its shares had fallen about 13% this year.

But in after-hours trading on Wall Street the shares jumped 20% to about $119.
Analysts said that the figures should dispel fears that Netflix was running out of momentum, at least in the short term.

Neil Saunders, chief executive of retail consultants Conlumino, said: “We maintain our view that over the next few years international expansion will pay dividends, but for the current cycle Netflix will be very reliant on domestic performance to ensure it ends the fiscal year on a high note.”

Drake squashed all rumours about his feud with Eminem by bringing out the legendary rapper on the Detroit leg of his Summer Sixteen tour.

The ‘Views’ rapper, who was performing at the Joe Louis Arena, invited out local hero Eminem to perform their 2009 collaboration ‘Forever’.

“Detroit, make some motherf*cking noise for Drake,” Eminem told the crowd, before Drake bowed down to him and added: “Make some noise for the greatest rapper to ever get on a microphone – he goes by the name of Eminem”.

Drake had previously shut down rumours of a feud between the pair during a freestyle on stage in New York.
He claimed local radio station Hot 97 were “telling lies” about the situation, to fuel his beef with Joe Budden.
Meanwhile, Drake has also brought out a number of other famous faces on his Summer Sixteen tour, including Kanye West, Rihanna, LeBron James and more.

Chris Brown Threw SHADE At His Ex Rihanna On Instagram Last Night! He Said “I Chose…”

Even though it’s been almost 8 years since they broke up, it seems there will always be a connection between Rihanna and Chris Brown. The two dated for almost 2 years before the well-known story of their demise was splashed across every tabloid in the world. Since then, the two have continued to see each other on and off platonically, as proven by Instagram and Twitter updates. Recently Chris spoke out about how he felt after breaking up with Rihanna and the aftermath of the infamous “Grammy’s” incident and how he will always have love for her.

But now we’re getting a different side of the story after he seemed to throw some shade at his former lady on Twitter last night. While discussing the Viewer’s Choice Awards, the Virginia-bred singer apparently dissed his ex Rihanna. Using just two simple words and an emoji, he seemed to throw Riri under the bus in preference for another major pop star. See what he said…

It all started with this tweet, which showed a fan’s tally of the current votes for who’s in line to win the award. The voting went Chris #3, Rihanna #2 and Beyonce #1. While in the past Chris has always put his support behind Rihanna, this time around he chose to publicly show no love, by cast his “vote” for Beyonce instead. In a one line tweet he wrote ‘I chose Bey”. While maybe not the biggest shade, it does show that singer isn’t as quick to show love for his former flame as once did.

Then again, maybe we shouldn’t hold too much weight about what he said. Following this response, Chris hoped back in the comments to express his dislike for award shows in general, going on a leghty rate about how they’re all fake and fixed. F*** THEM AWARDS!” Brown began in response to the fan’s comment, “EVERY AWARD SHOW AND AWARD IS FIXED. Networks lie to fans so they can engage in their programs..EVEN THE GRAMMYS. If I don’t perform, I don’t come. it’s just a[s] fake as the industry and they [sic] lies these artist tell y’all to gain success. Don’t be fooled,”
